Giant Cuban Anoles Kept Outside in Virginia!
0:48 I’ve never seen these lizards eat powder like a crested gecko cool to know 🤔 I might get one of these for my birthday
Beautiful enclosure. I have knight anoles hatching and was wondering what your advice was on how long to leave the anoles in the incubator after hatching and when to offer their first meal. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hi John, thanks for watching and commenting! I always remove babies knight anoles as soon as they are completely out of the egg. I make sure to mist off the enclosure they're going in really well first (they readily lap up water droplets when first put in). First meal is typically offered after several days....tiny crickets or mealworms in a dish so you can keep track of what is eaten and some baby food or crested gecko diet. Hope that helps!
So once per week? Or once a day for a week then repeat two weeks later?
I've been told the medicine is very hard to overdose with so you can safely dose daily for 3-5 days in a row and then repeat a week later. Of course, I'm not a veterinarian and a vet consultation is always your best bet! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good to see Jugger is doing well. Did he get his tale tip nipped off by grimrod before you gave him away?
That's my guess! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Even if you did make the Balls like cows, no ones gonna want python milk!
Where's donny? Been gone for a while.
Omg I’d love to see those big babies!!
I want a tour!!!!!
I love this!!! I wish NERD was closer!!!!!!!!
We went up from Virginia, not sure where you are but it was well worth the trip for us....awesome facility and Kevin and his staff are phenomenal!
This was awesome! I live very close to NERD, I would take the kids there to see all the creatures when they were little, fun times, and good memories 😊 @ChuckHorneTheLizardRoom
Awesome!!!
Thanks!!
Brilliant ❤️🇬🇧
Thank you for sharing your birthday with us!
Kevin knows these animals tremendously . He is inspiring .
So Chandler has Kevin and Kevin has Chandler. lmao
Yes, but 'S Kevin is named after a different Kevin
Totally enjoyed and loved this one Kevin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nerd are douche bags..look at what they tried to do yo chandler
That was fun! ❤
One of the most prized minds in this hobby. Cherish the time with Kevin. His knowledge is incredible
What a super dooper awesome way to spend your birthday.. 🦎 it looked like a lot of fun and the Nerd hosts were fantastic to watch their interaction with their animal friends . Happy Hoppy 🦘 birthday from Australia 🇦🇺 Chuck.. 🐍 ... 🎁🎈🎂
Thank you!
Happy birthday!! I love Snarfles so much!!! Keven is amazing and so is his collection.
Thank you! Yes, we loved his facility and he was awesome!
I love your videos. Keep up the good work. May I ask how you are cleaning their shells? In later videos the big guy has a super clean shell... i want to do the same.
Hi, thank you for the kind words! I think bringing him and not being exposed to natural sunlight helped with the algae on his shell going away. I don't scrub or anything like that. He's about to go back outside for the summer, so I'll keep an eye on if the algae comes back. Thanks again!
@@ChuckHorneTheLizardRoom That makes sense. Thank you for the tip!
Cool critter. There aren't many people willing to keep an undulated for so long!
My female is 3 and would love to know the size?
Hi great video i have a baby male he eats great but he keeps changing very dark in colour is this normal? Thanks
Hi, thanks for watching! Yeah, they change light to dark fairly frequently, so if all other behavior is normal: eating, active, drinking, etc. I wouldn't worry about it.
He is so beautiful! Mine won’t eat unless I hand the food to her. But if I try to touch her she just jets across the cage.
I am late to the party. Just learned about Cuban False Chameleons. Got a baby, only guestimation on age 5 months. Currently being treated for parasites and giardia. Won't eat. Would Pangea be close to the nutritional value as the Repashy for supplementation? TIA. Love all your content!
Pangea will be fine...get the product(s) with insects and not just fruit though to make sure the baby's getting enough protein. Thanks for watching and commenting!
That little dude is sooo adorable!
Juggernaut looking good. So hilarious too. What size did he completely lose the hatchling “skin” on his shell spikes? I can see my two losing that fuzzy skin as it grows smaller and smaller up the peaks of the spikes but it looks like juggers are completely gone.
Can you link me to what you’re using? I can only find the gel, don’t make me boil this stuff! 😅
Just search Repashy Grub Pie on Amazon, bunch of places sell it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Im making my first reef tank using a 90 gal tank. I have a nano that Ive been keeping for 3 months successfully with an AIO system but this 90gal tank will have (2) FX4, will this be enough you think and what tips can you give me with the canister filter? I am coming from the Freshwater world by the way.
Thanks for watching and commenting! After making this video and tweaking my lights some, I started experiencing some hair algae growth that I wasn't expecting, which was a little disappointing. That said, I decided not to go the reef route and purchased another undulated trigger. I still plan on using the FX4 and just got a sponge pre-filter for the intake and I plan on removing all of the sponges from the canister and just use bio and chemical media in it. Hopefully that helps. I like the canisters, you just have to be prepared to maintenance them frequently.
Cant put anything in the tank with them once they get 8 inches or so , they are extremely aggressive , i had a six incher that controlled a 125 gallon with 10 inch triggers and the undulated was the boss
Nice job, they're super smart, with some work he will be like a dog
That's the goal!
Beautiful !
😊😊😊😊🌺
Whats the filtering setup ya have ?
It's a Sicce Shark Pro internal filter. It's probably a little under-powered for an AST enclosure, but I keep up on the maintenance and media. I have some DIY options with more filter power, just have to get off my butt and set them up! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looking good!
It prbably gets repetitive and normal after so many years, but man it's still frightening to see that mouth
Very nice looking turtle. Already 1200 grams too. I was a bit worried when you balanced him on that Tupperware though. Just put him in a plastic bin and zero out the scale. Would be cool for you to do a video showing the other ones set up at the store.
Thanks for watching and the comment! Check a couple of videos ago (I think when I hid the cords), there's a brief video of Grimrod in his temporary enclosure at the pet shop. They haven't set up his new indoor pond yet though. Regarding the cup I tried to balance him on, yeah I knew it was sketchy, but a shoe box sized plastic box was sitting on the small round scale very well (couldn't center it), so I tried what you saw. I'll come up with something better in the future.
Probably the most aggressive fish species period , I've seen a undulated that was 6 inches control a 250 gallon that had other predatory fish that were all 10 to 12 inches and they were deathly afraid of the undulated , they had to pull him out and put him in smaller tank by himself . Undulateds are extremely aggressive
No doubt! Probably best for a species tank unless the aquarium is huge!
I see 2 are watching their weight lol
He sure is cute! To have one that small as a pet would be awesome! Let me me the first to congratulate you on keeping one.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thats awesome! Definitely wanna keep some of these guys in the future
Thanks for watching and commenting! They are a very rewarding, if underrated, species in my opinion.
@ChuckHorneTheLizardRoom I feel like all anole species are underrated
would it be possible if I rehomed Grimrod from the local shop? i’m also in VA
He's going to be the shop mascot and I'm looking forward to the awesome enclosure they have planned for him!
Hey Chuck where did you get the tub from? it’s pretty cool
Vendor called Komara Outdoors. You can find them on Facebook and send a message. The tub is a medium WaterLand model. I'll warn, you they are not cheap and they have to shipped via freight, which wasn't cheap either. I think Komara is the main distributor in the Mid Atlantic region, so depending on where you are there might be other options for you. Thanks for commenting!
Does Jen have a RUclips site? Like to see more of her betta hobby.
Unfortunately no, she's not really doing any social media at the moment!
Very nice
I didn't know that is what they called them a herd
Actually, a group of torts is a "creep"! Coined by Darwin on the Galapagos, I guess because those giants creep along! A group of leopards (cats) is a leap, herd just sat better with me! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I will have to use that in my next video
So cool! Congratulations on keeping him alive that long cause I’m not sure how long they live in the wild. Is he a normal Knight or a morph of some type?
Thank you! Sid is a normal (Florida) Knight Anole. I picked him up at a local shop in 2013, he was captive produced by Ron St. Pierre down in Fl. I've seen records from zoos that suggest Knights can live to over 15 years old, so I hope to have him around a bit longer!
That's odd Chuck. I've been been keeping my four together (two alligator snappers and two common snappers). Going on six years now and so far haven't had any issues. Btw glad to see you back.
I agree, unexpected...but it seemed readily apparent to me that Grimrod was bullying Jugger out of the water for some reason. Thanks for the welcome back! Hope to put some vids up more consistently from now on!
Good job Chuck, one of those guys are a handful anyway especially as they get bigger.
Thank you Sir!
